Addressing Legacy Systems’ Impacts on Racial Disparities in Serious Illness Care

Dr. Tamara Baker, Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the School of Medicine, and NCSI Coalition member Harold Barnette, Co-Founder of the Institute for Family Caregiving, share insights and lead a discussion on the various harmful ways that operations and processes long-existing in medical systems can affirm and enhance prejudice and negatively impact the outcomes for communities of color.

This discussion was one component of the North Carolina Serious Illness Coalition’s monthly meetings.
