Get to Know the Summer 2023 NCSI Coalition Graduate Interns

This year, we are grateful to connect and collaborate with so many talented graduate students who join in our work to advance the mission of the Coalition. Learn about those doing internships in their own words below, and we look forward to our shared opportunity to grow with them in 2023 and beyond!


Aviti Dombasi

Aviti Dombasi is a second year MPH candidate at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte studying epidemiology. Coming from a multicultural background, Aviti seeks to use her Public Health experience to help create solutions and bring equity and justice to any community she finds herself in. She is passionate about Maternal and child health care in minorities. 

Aviti is an experienced student mentor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. She is skilled in Communication, Data Analytics, Program Planning, Recruiting, and Team Management. She is a strong education professional with a Bachelor of Science – BS focused in Public Health with a Concentration in Community Health from University of North Carolina at Greensboro.


Megan Reid

Megan Reid is a Master’s in Public Health student with a concentration in Epidemiology at UNC Charlotte. Megan grew up in Raleigh, NC and obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology from UNC Charlotte. Megan plans on becoming an epidemiologist once she finishes her Master’s degree and hopes to do research in health disparities or infectious diseases in the future. Megan gained an interest in public health once the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the entire world and shed light on numerous health disparities that exist in our healthcare system. With her various interests in public health, she hopes to make an impact on the healthcare delivery system that will benefit many people for years to come.
